Martinborough Retreat

Completed

This award winning architecturally crafted country home welcomes visitors beneath a hardwood pergola into a warm, character-filled foyer with tongue-and-groove walls, timber flooring, and a mounted stag—setting a rustic yet refined tone.

Laid out on a single level, the home is designed to capture sunlight and frame views of the north-facing deck and pool. The T-shaped floor plan clearly defines social and private zones, while a central spine of light coloured flooring grounds the living spaces and balances dark and light finishes.

The primary living area is designed as a covered terrace. In summer, it opens completely for outdoor living; in winter, it becomes a cosy fireside retreat. Italian floor tiles, a dark timber ceiling, and generous glazing create a space that is both intimate and light-filled, with sliding doors opening to the heated pool and lawn.

The entertainer’s kitchen includes a scullery, bar, and a custom hardwood circular breakfast bar at its centre. A second living space features full-height dark joinery, concealing the TV and a hidden study tucked behind cabinetry.

In the home’s long wing are two generous bedrooms, a family bathroom, and a master suite—each with sliding doors to the pool deck, enhancing indoor-outdoor flow and sunlight.

Clad in charcoal Abodo shiplap with a roofline that echoes nearby farm buildings, this home is built for family life and effortless entertaining, year-round.
